South Africa continues to be the most active country for dealmaking, recording 41 deals worth $46.56 billion during the first half of the year - higher than any annual value total on Mergermarket record (since 2006).

Peter is a member of CDC’s Africa Team, based in London. He supports CDC’s equity, debt and fund investment teams throughout Africa.
Peter has worked in the private equity, investment banking and telecommunications industries for 25 years. Prior to joining CDC in 2012, he was Investment Director, Principal Investments at HSBC in London. Before that, Peter was Head of Leverage and Acquisition Finance Africa at Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) and at Standard Bank in South Africa. He also worked as Financial Manager supporting Vodacom’s South African and Tanzanian operations.
Peter is a qualified Chartered Accountant, member of ICAEW and SAICA.
Tad Zindi is the Sales Director for Sub-Saharan Africa Datasite. He is experienced with helping local and international clients across the region simplify their due diligence processes through leveraging the latest and best-in-class technology. He has worked on various cross-border transactions for both financial institutions and investors, with a strong focus on the South African, Nigerian and Kenyan markets. Tad regularly presents at client seminars on the impact of technology in M&A processes. He began his career in FMCG with PepsiCo and Unilever before transitioning into technology for the African market.
Elaine Green is Editor - EMEA Bureaus at Mergermarket and is responsible for managing the Bureaus in Europe and Middle East and African (EMEA) as well as being Global Head of Shipping. She has been with the company since its inception in 2000 and is an experienced reporter, editor and manager having worked both within the group and at wide range of other European publications. Her qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
